I did a bit of an online search concerning Michael S. Steele who was named recently to be the RNC chairman.

He seems likeable, learned and very well qualified.

I heard online - don't remember where but I think it was somewhere around YouTube - that Mr. Steele is 'pro-choice' leaning. Much of what I looked up on his positions indicated that he is concretely 'pro-life', but I found something interesting on two sites so far.

On 'On The Issues' Mr. Steele's stance is listed as 'Roe v. Wade should remain in place. (Oct 2006)'.

This is an interesting statement from someone who is supposedly or solidly 'pro-life'.

There is an interesting article I found on LifeNews [didn't feel I should post, to my dismay, due to reprinting restrictions]. It was mentioned in the article concerning Mr. Steele of him keeping company with those individuals who wish to move the Republican platform off of the position in favor of protecting and upholding life.

Which I have seen as already becoming a problem with Republicans not holding the line on this important conservative issue in one way or another.
