____________

I decided to look up information to post about those who are noteworthy from The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.

I noticed that Mitt Romney might be discriminated against due to his choice of denomination. There are many who believe that The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is in reality a cult. I believe them to be a Christian denomination, but are a fringe church - not a mainstream church. They do profess a belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, which is ok by me. They can be quite strict in their teachings.

I met some of their young missionaries that came to my door seeking if I would be interested in their church. I was impressed by them. They were clean cut and well spoken, and I had a good conversation with them. They said that their young people are required to give about a year or so to missions work for Christ before going on with their own life of being married, career choice or school, etc. They gave me a Book Of Mormon which I am almost finished reading. I also picked up a book from their online site called "The Triple Combination".

I didn't wish to become a "Mormon", and I felt a bit of pressure to attend their church and to be rebaptised. They did not accept my Catholic baptism, and believe in immersion for Baptism. I am not entirely happy with their teachings as well, because I believe they stray too much from the Bible to rely on and promote foreign material in their belief system.

Our conversations ended due to a change in people to speak with me that they were sending to my home. I don't adjust well to change like that, and didn't wish to start all over again with new people. (I get tired if I feel like I have to do that.)

I don't think they are understood as a denomination, and there could be missinformation about them around. Governor Romney shouldn't be discriminated against simply because he choose to be a "Mormon" - to the point of people actually being rude to him. I think he should be looked at overall, and not simply because someone does not like or condemns his choice of denomination.

I believe Governor Romney has some good points.

I am dismayed at some of the content of the advertisements, but with limited funds it isn't always practical to upgrade in order to remove them. My plan is to only upgrade as needed.
