I have been listening to the weather news over the past couple of days. The talk is about Hurricane Noel.
.
I have yet to hear a single announcer on TV or radio say the name Noel correctly. (It's being said like 'knoll')
.
I'm not the only person who noticed this either.
.
Does anyone remember the Christmas carol "The First Noel"?
.
Or is the media that allergic to even mentioning someone's name this festive and/or anything that remotely reflects CHRISTMAS?
.
Are they starting to censor people's names now too?
.
Or maybe there is one person somewhere who named the Hurricane that just doesn't know how to pronounce the name Noel? (A pronunciation was not listed on Encarta, and I couldn't find it on Wikipedia. Just why would that be?)
.
I noticed that not a single person giving the weather on TV or radio is standing out and boldly saying the name correctly.
